Sounds like a plan on paper but at the end of the day they'll call you "Stumpy."
Well, the outfit has five-inch stack heels shoes, and no one makes disparaging remarks to a six-foot-seven woodworker in a satin jumpsuit. No. Bud. Dee.
Yeah, I HATE when that cape-in-the-lathe thing happens.
On the other hand, you COULD listen to some REAL funk – sans cape:
Scottish Funk (Scots do it better.):

Getting hired to join James Brown's band must of been like a combination of elation over getting in on the big time and dread over prospective boot camp conditioning drills. I mean nobody isn't in constant motion at all times. Even a guy who just stands there like the rhythm guitarist is never not doing a lot of something at every second.
I like the lime green jumpsuits on the ladies to stage right!!
Wasn't sure if that was Maceo on alto sax – the cape and hair threw me off. In the one good close up bit of him he backed off his mouthpiece to take a breath, just enough to see the white patch on top of the mouthpiece beak – a Brilhart "Tonalin" mouthpiece. That's ever been Maceo's setup, to this day.
It's amazing how much of a difference some good tunes can be to help you get your work on :). I like James Brown too haha.
