A Man Who Has Nothing In Particular To Recommend Him Discusses All Sorts of Subjects at Random as Though He Knew Everything

Saturday Badfinger Fix

We need to hear Badfinger right now. In my case, it is a strictly palliative dose. But you’re a wreck. It’s life and death for you.

Bonus convulsion-causing-Kenny Rogers-with-Helen Reddy’s-haircut appearance.

  1. Is the bass player just a scosh cross-eyed?

Play some Bad Company, too. That was the very first date I had with Mr. Charming.

  2. So you’re old enough to remember when Kenny Rogers was considered “rock” music?

    Love your blog…and furniture!

  3. Hi misterarthur- how are ye? Our favorite gibson standard guitar player is Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Badfinger’s a close second.

Ruth Anne- He’s British. His eyes are prolly alright, but his teeth are crooked.

The first song I ever performed in a rock band was Bad Company, IIRC. Or maybe it was Captain and Tennille. I don’t remember. It was the American Legion Post, and we couldn’t play the Nat Anth, and they thought we could, but wouldn’t, and got angry with us. I think I was fifteen.

Captain and Tennille. Heh. I’ll do anything for money.

Hi Jerry. Thanks mucho. I have a Kenny Rogers brush with semi-greatness story, but I’ll save it for another time.

  4. Ah, but as much as I melt at their music, it breaks my heart to see and hear them. Two suicides in a four-man group? Sad beyond telling.
