A Man Who Has Nothing In Particular To Recommend Him Discusses All Sorts of Subjects at Random as Though He Knew Everything

Different Revenue Streams

Tommy Emmanuel is from Australia, so I assume he can play it upside-down, too. He can play it every other which-a-way.

He said his childhood hero was Chet Atkins. That’s a good one to have. He practiced hard and eventually he got to make a record with Chet. Think about that. How many of us grow up to meet our childhood hero, look him straight in the eye as an equal, and do something notable with them? It’s fantastic.

I hope someday I’ll meet my childhood hero, and get to ask him questions, help him with his work, and just generally pal around with him. I can picture it now:

“Say, how do you keep the lakes of fire from going out? Do you buy your pitchforks retail? That’s crazy. You should get a wholesale lot of them, finance the whole bunch, and then lease the lot back to yourself to get the tax deduction. C’mon, there must be plenty of tax attorneys down here, ask one. And another thing, what do you do with all those handbaskets? We could open up an Etsy shop and sell those, too. Different revenue streams are important for any business, and they always pay off in the long term, even if it’s eternity.”

“Listen, you, one more word and you’re going in the lake of lava.”

“Well, ackshually, I don’t mean to be pedantic, but we’re underground, so that’s magma, not lava.”

“Did you ever wonder how you ended up here?”

“No.”

  1. Oh dear. Thank you so much for a little piece about Australia. Over the past 20 years DH and I have had multiple occasions to visit this wonderful country. If we were just a little younger we would pack it up and head down under for keeps. Thanks for reminding us!
