Thanks for reminding me of the kind of stuff I was shown in grade school. Truly a contrast with today, and fascinating.

I have spent plenty of time in Death Valley, summer and winter. I used to mountain bike all over it. I really liked the petroglyphs.
That film, made today, would preach that because it reaches 130 degrees there, global warming is about to kill us all. Then, well, that was just summer in DV.

Expanding on Rob's comment, I can visualize my 4th grade teacher fiddling with the projector as the sound garbles and the film tries to escape the sprockets. Thanks for the memories.
