I’m very grateful to a lot of people for a lot of things. Life is hard, I guess, but so many people are kind to me on a regular basis that I’ve decided that the world is a pleasant place filled with nice people. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Some of the nicer people I could mention are readers here, and they support my sons’ efforts via the PayPal tipjar, and you should think about laying some lucre on them this Christmas season. 32 Degrees North has old skool decorations, ornaments, cards, and gifts, the kind
we adore here at the Cottage. Every year like clockwork they send my children Advent Calendars,
which brings a big smile to their faces and a wistful tear to my eye.
They’ve got Easter stuff, too, which is like Christmas with sightly less snow shoveling, so I like it even better. Go there now, there’s no time to
waste: 32 Degrees North.
Our friend Nora Gardner sells lovely dresses that make the guys go hubba hubba on Wall Street without stepping over the demure/brazen hussy line once. Nora’s a bright young lady, and she’s better looking than the pretty models she’s got showing off her dresses, which doesn’t seem fair, really. Her stuff is
made right here in New York City. Nora Gardner
Now for a bit of a ticklish topic. I’ve gone out of business. Sippican Cottage Furniture and Fastique are no more. I’ve sold furniture on the Internet for ten years now, which I’m pretty sure is longer than the Internet has existed, but it’s dead, Jim. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that’s ever purchased anything from me in the past. Many of the people that read this blog are former customers, and I am profoundly grateful for your friendship and patronage.
I have four tables left over, including one Evangeline Table. If you check up at the logo at the top of the blog, they’re listed on the navigation bar. Sorry about the pictures; they actually look a lot better than that. You can purchase the tables using your existing Amazon accounts to check out, using a buy now button at the bottom of the page. Shipping is free anywhere in the US, but when they’re gone that’s it. Many thanks, and Merry Christmas.
Direct links to the tables, if you prefer:

I'm very sorry to hear the furniture business hasn't been so good. People don't know what they're missing. I hope and pray that whatever comes next, you all will fare well and better; and that you have a wonderful, and very blessed Christmas.
Now I finally bothered to buy one of your tables I just have the small matter of getting back to The U.S. and building a house around it to contend with.
Sorry to hear about your furniture business. I live in a furniture-making town and see the industry woes first hand.
I wish you all the best in whatever your next endeavors may be– writing?
I have two of your pieces, Sipp. My only regret is you didn't brand them, because we all know how the work of former artists skyrockets in value. Consider how Prince's popularity increased when he became "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince". Wait, he wound up returning to Prince after the whole symbol thing. Bad example. Okay, Van Gogh's work saw a huge increase in value after…no that's not it. Now, Melville's Moby Dick reached peak popularity within 100 years of it's publication… You know what, screw it. I love the fact I own two well-built pieces of furniture that will always be more meaningful than their monetary value. I feel
like I have contributed to the furthering of a Founding Father. The thing is, you're more american than many Americans I know. Your writing has a genius to it. I found you six years ago, and I still come to your site with bated breath, seeking the sublime. I expect you will excel at whichever craft you pursue next. Thanks for all your work.
Some of what Matt said. His gift for analogy is apparently lost somewhere in the dead letter office…I haven't commented because I'm still processing this. You may not believe it, but this post has really had an effect on me. More to come, and know I've been wishing only the best for you and your'n for years now, and that won't stop.
I will always treasure my tables and bench. Always. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all the Sullivans.
Thank you, Gregory -il miglior fabbro.
We hope to buy the first of what comes next.

What the hey? I was thinking of expanding my furniture business – last year I sold two pieces – I was hoping to increase that to at least three in 2015.
Maybe I shouldn't set my sights so high.
Anyway, I hope you manage to keep body and soul together down east there, which I know you really aren't, and the wolf from the door and a fire going in the fireplace and so on. All your work is top notch – I hope you are able to monetize every bit of it. And byte.
Well, that's depressing. Guess I'm not getting a matching shelf anytime soon.
Are you fleeing the coming Ice Age? The forecasts for this coming NE winter are grim. If I could get my mother to leave the People's Republic I'd be warming my bones somewhere warmer.
Best of luck, (Is this site staying up?)
Hope you will continue to write, but I know the pay is worse.
🙁
I hope you quickly find another way to bring in money, either as an employee or entrepreneur.
