  1. I have an inkling that this young man's concept of innovation in business has been honed by developing paradigms of new innovation theory all the while thinking out of the box. There have been many meetings and brainstorming sessions, I'm sure. It's like looking down a hall of mirrors.
Do we make anything anymore? Or do we just breed stuffy dullards like this and pay them to yammer at us.

  2. I lasted one minute, and thirty five seconds. I wonder if this metro-neuter has ever shaken hands with the business end of a wrench…

    Uh- no I don't.

  3. Yeesh.

Did any of y'all ever hear of W. Edwards Deming, The Man Who Invented Quality? Statistician, went to Japan after WWII and revitalized the manufacturing culture, US industry wouldn't give him the time of day, etcetcetc. Common sense personified.

By the time those inscrutable little sneaks started looking like taking over, US business came around to the notion of measurable process, customer/client relationships within the organization and transparency in communication. There was money to be made in the early '90s teaching this stuff to big corps, and I thought, not for the first time, that we were gonna make the world a better place.

The simultaneous flowering of the New Age™ and Women In Business®, however, perverted the message into "Mission Statements," and "Managing The Customer's Expectations," and similar flowery bullshit. The resultant swamp of gobbledygook took over the dialogue. And resulted in creatures like this kid.

    Oh Brave New World….

  4. That would be the Harvard whose genius investment portfolio lost 30% in a year?

    No thank you.

I gave it a try, and got as far as the young woman saying "ideating"
