Al Gore is the clown that is the distraction. The EPA is the unchecked (and unelected) force that does most of the damage. An example.
Wood stoves may soon become a thing of the past, new EPA regulations of maximum 12 microgram limit particulate matter which is a standard that cannot be met by any but the most expensive (Swedish) made wood stoves or inserts. Plus, older stoves that can't meet the standards can't be repaired by dealers anymore. Older stoves cannot be traded in for updated types, but instead must be rendered inoperable, destroyed, or recycled as scrap metal.
(I was wondering why the cost of a cord of firewood dropped this year.)
As I wrote that it occurred to me that the obvious next step is the regulation (and taxing) of firewood, wood pellets including mandatory inspection and issuance of permits to buy combustibles.

AlGore's comments and promises are soon forgotten…by him, and me.
