Saw this and was about to buy tickets for their LA show when I saw Ticketmaster charges a 50% "Convenience Fee." Won't do it on principle. Great music, though.
You are dead on on this topic. Actually, most topics. Whenever I attend a live musical performance (usually by obscure non-mainstream acts), it never ceases to amaze me how much talent there is on stage and how the American Idol schlock pales in comparison. I just count myself as one of the lucky ones that is witnessing real talent.
Don't you know it. I've seen acts in Holiday Inn lounges that would blow away the "talent" on Idol.
